I’m a bit of an artist if I do say so myself. I’ve worked on a wide variety of sculptures over the years, selling them for extremely high prices at auction. People love my artworks. Just last week, I sold a sculpture of some sort of strange animal that was kind of like a combination of a giant eagle and a sloth. It looked super weird, but people were really into it. I feel really lucky to be able to come up with the strangest ideas imaginable, head to my favourite hardware store near Cheltenham, get the supplies I need and get to work. It’s not really work, though, since it’s so much fun.
Currently, I’m working on something a bit different. It has required many trips to the hardware store because I’m using a lot of paint. An art store just isn’t going to get the job done. I’ve taken an old, beaten up car and turned it into a massive art project. I’ve painted it bright blue, and am now in the process of gluing literally anything I can find to it. Bolts, wires, paintbrushes. You name it, and it’s on that car. If it isn’t, I’ll happily add it. I’m not really sure what I’m trying to say with this sculpture, but I’m sure someone will buy it for an absurd price anyway.
I’ll have to head to the shops again soon to get some timber supplies. Cheltenham hardware store owners must think I’m crazy, visiting them multiple times a week for a whole variety of things. Sometimes I walk out with plumbing supplies, other times with electrical or building supplies. It’s all for a good cause. Someone is going to end up with a very strange sculpture that they have no idea what they are going to do with. Isn’t that the point of art? To sell things to people they don’t need? If that’s the case, I’m just about the best artist in the world.
